After Jack and Daniel, Arjun Sarja makes a comeback to Malayalam through the film Virunnu. Nikki Galrani, who shuttles between Malayalam and other language films will be seen as the female lead. Recently the title poster of the movie was unveiled through the Facebook pages of actors, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Unni Mukundan. The poster which features the symbol of the Illuminati also has Arjun and other prominent actors..

Gireesh Neyyar is producing the film under the Neyyar Films banner. Baiju Santhosh, Dharmajan Bolgatty, and Hareesh Peradi play significant characters in Virunnu. Helmed by Kannan Thamarakkulam, known for movies like Aadupuliyattam, Virunnu is touted to be a mystery thriller. Rumours suggest that Arjun will be portraying an enigmatic lead character in Virunnu. The details about his role are still under wraps and makers haven’t disclosed anything about the plot yet. According to the makers, Arjun has excelled in the action sequences featured in the movie.

The previous directorial of the director was Varaal, featuring Anoop Menon in the lead. The film attempted to convey strong messages against communal politics but lacked writing, regarding substantial issues.

Arjun’s last Malayalam appearance was with Dileep in Jack and Daniels. He also played a significant character in Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, Which received the National Award for Best Feature Film. The actor, who played the role of a warrior named Anandhan in the pan-Indian film also had shared a wish to direct Mohanlal in a movie.

His upcoming projects include Vijay’s Leo, the shooting of which is completed, and the film, scheduled for a theatrical release in October.

Meanwhile, Nikki Galrani who debuted in Nivin Pauly’s 1983, later essayed several roles in Kannada and Tamil films. She was seen alongside stars like Dileep and Biju Menon and her last film in Malayalam was Omar Lulu’s Dhamaka
