S.S. Rajamouli is one of the most celebrated directors in India, meanwhile, he has gained immense fame all over the world since his latest directorial RRR. Now, the filmmaker is all set for another magnum opus post the NTR Jr. and Ram Charan starrer. His upcoming ventures are said to be based on the origin and rise of Indian cinema.

According to an exclusive report on Deadline, the Indian filmmaker is currently building up a giant production team for his anticipated venture, which is said to be based on the initial times of Indian cinema. The upcoming untitled biopic is said to be told on a huge scale with an epic canvas. Meanwhile, according to other media reports, Rajamouli is set to announce his magnum opus on Tuesday, September 19.

Recent Indian releases based on a similar storyline

Recently, the period drama series titled Jubilee, based on the rise of the Bombay Film Industry, was acclaimed all over the country for its bold take on showcasing reality with a nuanced fictional medley. Created and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the Prime Video show stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ram Kapoor in pivotal roles.

RRR has gained a huge line of fame to the Indian filmmaker with its larger-than-life scale cinematography, epic story and hit songs along with Naatu Naatu, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards among other accolades. The 2022 epic action drama film is available to stream on Netflix now.
