Venkatesh delivered the biggest hit of his career with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. The family drama brought him back into the limelight, reaffirming his reputation as the king of comedy. Surprisingly, however, Venkatesh has not announced any new film since the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
Now, we at OTTplay have exclusively learned that he has locked his next project with star director Trivikram Srinivas. Going into details, Trivikram was originally set to collaborate with Allu Arjun after Pushpa 2, and the project had been officially announced. However, due to delays in pre-production, Allu Arjun allotted his dates to director Atlee instead.
Since Allu Arjun’s film will take over a year to complete, Trivikram found himself with ample time and met with Venkatesh to narrate a script. The star loved the story and gave it the green light. Back when Trivikram worked as a writer, many of his scripts featured Venkatesh, including some of the actor’s most iconic comedy scenes in recent years.
The two had long wanted to collaborate as director and actor, but the timing never worked out until now. The Athadu director and Venkatesh have finally teamed up, and an official confirmation from the makers is expected soon.
A source close to the unit reveals that the film will be a hilarious family drama with strong emotional depth. Trivikram, known for his expertise in handling such genres, will be directing a senior hero like Venkatesh for the first time, making this one of the most highly anticipated collaborations in recent times.
Pre-production has been underway for the past few weeks, and the film is expected to go on floors in July 2025. Several big names from Telugu cinema are likely to play key roles in the project. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting venture.
