Eugene Levy is the newest member of the stellar ensemble cast for Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building, which airs on Hulu (Disney+ Hotstar in India). The actor-filmmaker will make a recurring appearance on the next season of the series, marking his first television acting role since Schitt's Creek. Series stars and executive producers Martin Short and Steve Martin, who also co-created the mystery comedy, join him along with Selena Gomez, new recurring characters Molly Shannon and Eva Longoria, and returning Meryl Streep.

Plot details for Season 4

In the upcoming season, we will find out who murdered Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles-Haden Savage's (Martin) stunt double from Brazzos and its 2020 resurrection, and all new characters will play key roles in the complex inquiry.

Thanks to the casting, Levy and his long-lost friend Short reunite. They both began their careers on SCTV and have since cooperated on several projects; they are both from the same Canadian hometown. In addition to Martin and Short, Levy made brief appearances in the Father of the Bride films.

Setting and character dynamics for Season 4

A recent interview with Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, who spoke to Deadline, stated that the Only Murders in the Building trio—Charles, Oliver (Short), and Mabel (Gomez)—would begin the upcoming season by visiting Los Angeles. They will then return to Arconia to continue their quest for Sazz's killer.

Oliver, Mabel, Loretta (Streep), and the third season finale all considered relocating to Los Angeles.

Production and creative team behind the series

Twentyth Television produces Only Murders in the Building, the most popular original comedy series on Hulu. Martin and John Hoffman co-created and co-wrote the show. Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal are also executive producers.

Along with his son Dan Schitt, Levy co-created and starred in the CBC/Pop series Schitt's Creek, which won nine Emmys in 2020, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting awards for Eugene Levy, three other main cast members, and the show itself. Furthermore, Levy had previously won an Emmy for his role in 2019.
