Afwaah released in theatres on May 5. The movie, starring Nawazuddun Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, is a dud at the Box Office. It failed to earn even close to a crore on its first day.

Afwaah, according to a report on Box Office Worldwide, has earned nearly Rs. 25 lacs on day one. The movie is a complete disaster with the Box Office collection.

Afwaah started on a slow note and did not pick up even in the evening. The movie is completely shunned by the viewers.

While some fans did praise the film on the internet, it appears that Afwaah did not connect with a bigger lot. Most of the praises went out to director Sudhir Mishra.

The movie also brought Nawazuddin Siddiqui back on the screen after a year. He was last seen in Tiger Shroff's Heropanti 2.

Afwaah is set in a small town in Rajasthan named Sawalpur. The story is about a renowned advertising executive Rahab (Nawazuddin) and the heiress to a political dynasty, Nivi (Bhumi Pednekar). The film is about how a social media rumour creates havoc in their lives.

Sudhir Mishra had previously directed Nawazuddin in the movie, Serious Men. The movie released on Netflix three years back.

Afwaah also stars Sumeet Vyas, Sumit Kaul, Rockey Raina, Sharib Hashmi and TJ Bhanu in pivotal roles. The movie is the first time that Nawazuddin and Bhumi got paired together.
