Abhishek Bachchan is all set for the release of his upcoming film titled Dasvi. The actor, who co-stars with Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in the film has been neck deep in the promotional activities for Dasvi. In a recent conversation with a leading TV news channel, the actor spoke about the intent behind making a film and indirectly took a dig at the ones who're trying to politicise Vivek Agnihotri's recent hit The Kashmir Files. He also said that if the movie was not good, it wouldn't have worked at all.

In an interaction with Times Now Navbharat, when the Dasvi actor was quizzed if a film can ever be an answer to or solve any political issue, he said that it may be, but that totally depends on how people and individuals are interpreting it. The actor further mentioned that if the intention behind making the movie is right, it will definitely do well."If your intentions are clear, everything will be fine," he said.

Abhishek also took a dig at those trying to politicise The Kashmir Files. He told the news channel,"Does art reflects life or does life reflects art? Agar film achhi ho, tab dekhenge (If the film is good, then we'll see)."

Speaking about why The Kashmir Files has struck a chord with the masses, Abhishek Bachchan added, "Aap The Kashmir Files ke baare mein baat kar rahe thhe (You were talking about The Kashmir Files). The genesis of it is what..Ham log pichhle do teen din se yehi baat kar rahe thhe (for the past two-three days we have been talking about the same) aap jo kuch bhi kahein (no matter what you say), you want to politicise it, you want to communalise it, that is your freedom of speech and your opinion..very good. Agar film achhi nahi hoti na, woh nahi chalti (If the movie wasn't good, it would never have worked). There's no other reason why it's working."

The actor further said that we can take out a lot of other meanings and ripple effects but the genesis and foundation is that it has to be a good film for it to work. Abhishek shared that it's not his place to say anything as he hasn't watched the film yet. "But I've not met anybody who has said that it's a bad film," said the Dasvi actor adding that therein lies the truth of cinema. He concluded by saying that if a film is doing good business, it has to be a good film, otherwise it will not work.

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri shared a short clip from the interview where Abhishek is seen talking about The Kashmir Files and shared it on his Twitter page. He thanked Abhishek and wrote, "Thank you @juniorbachchan for your graciousness." Abhishek Bachchan replied to him writing, "Look forward to seeing the film at the earliest. Best wishes.
