Agent: Makers of Akhil Akkineni’s action flick issue clarification regarding teaser release date

Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming spy flick titled Agent has been in the news a few weeks ago. With a lot of rumours on the internet regarding the movie’s schedule and release date, the movie’s makers have now stepped in with clarification. 

The movie’s producer, Anil Sunkara took to Twitter to give the latest update about the upcoming action movie. "#AGENT schedule starting in Manali. An update abt teaser will be given shortly. Please only follow verified twitter handles for updates. Ignore all the rumours please," he wrote. 

There were a number of reports recently that suggested that the movie would not meet its release date because the makers are behind schedule and would not be able to finish it in time. The movie has an August 12 release date as of now and it seems like the makers are confident that they can release the movie on time. 

Apart from Akhil in the lead, the movie also stars Malayalam megastar Mammootty in an important role. Newcomer Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead in the movie. 

Fans have been excited about the movie since its announcement and the posters released by the makers have also helped their excitement. One of the posters featured Akhil holding a gun and looking towards the sky. Another poster shared by the makers featured Mammootty on a mission in a tactical kit. 

Written and directed by Surender Reddy and bankrolled by AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, the action thriller has music composed by Hiphop Tamizha. 

Akhil was last seen in the romantic comedy Most Eligible Bachelor. Also starring Pooja Hegde, the movie received mixed reviews but did well at the box office. Mammootty on the other hand, made his OTT debut last week with the thriller drama Puzhu. The film is currently streaming on Sony LIV.
