Akhil Akkineni, who scored the first commercial success in his career with Most Eligible Bachelor, is leaving no stone unturned to shine in an out-and-out action avatar for his next, Agent. The film, written by Vakkantham Vamsi and directed by Surender Reddy, is an action thriller that also features Mammotty in a crucial role. Sakshi Vaidya is being introduced as the female lead.

The teaser of Agent was released earlier today. Mammotty, introduced as the head of national security agency Mahadev, is called for an enquiry and goes to great lengths to describe the valour and unpredictability of an ‘Agent’, calling him notorious, a patriot and that there’s no chance to catch him. His death note has already been written, Mahadev adds.

Later, the agent’s girlfriend calls him, ‘Wild Saale’. True to the introduction, Akhil tells the baddie to be a ready for a wild ride and is on a killing spree. Akhil’s transformation for the part is stunning and given Surender Reddy’s expertise with action films, one can be reasonably confident of Agent’s commercial prospects. It’s very obvious that the film has been made on a lavish scale.
