Aghathiyaa, the 2025 Tamil film which released recently, and starred actor Jiiva in the lead role, is all set to make its OTT debut. The film, which is a fantasy horror adventure, is directed by lyricist Pa Vijay in his third directorial. Aghathiyaa will stream on SunNXT from March 28 onwards. Aghathiyaa was released on February 28. It is a Tamil fantasy horror action thriller directed by Pa. Vijay. The film features Jiiva in a dual role alongside Arjun Sarja and Raashii Khanna. The narrative follows a young art director and his fiancée who convert a film set they built into a scare house and make a business out of it. However, the place is already burdened with past secrets and spirits.
The production faced delays after its initial announcement in 2020, primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unforeseen challenges. However, in late March 2023, Vels Film International revived the project, leading to its eventual release this year. After its theatrical run, the film will be made available on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium from March 28 onwards.
The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Upon release, Aghathiyaa received mixed reviews. Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Reddin Kingsley, and others are also part of the film. It is produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh and Aneesh Arjun Dev. The technical crew of Aghathiyaa includes Dipak Kumar Padhy as the cinematographer and San Lokesh is handling the edits. P Shanmugan is the art director. Besides directing the film, Pa Vijay has also served as the lyricist.
