Aghathiyaa teaser out: Jiiva and Pa Vijay’s fantasy drama has magnificent visuals with mysterious conflict

We had earlier reported that a Tamil film titled Aghathiyaa is in the making. The film stars Jiiva in the lead role, and is set to release on January 31. Ahead of this, the makers of Aghathiyaa released the teaser of the film on social media on Friday.

The teaser of Aghathiyaa, an upcoming horror fantasy film starring Jiiva and directed by lyricist Pa Vijay, was released on Friday. Slated to hit big screens on January 31, the film features an ensemble star cast including actors Arjun Sarja, Raashii Khanna, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Reddin Kingsley, and others.

The teaser begins with the voiceover talking about something that happened in a bungalow in 1940 under mysterious circumstances. As a woman says that they are not connected to it, the man says there is indeed a connection. We are shown many fantasy-laded visuals, as characters are introduced in period and present portions. With the tagline ‘Angels VS Devil’, Aghathiyaa will be a battle between evil forces and good ones.

Aghathiyaa release date

Aghathiyaa is scheduled to release in theatres on January 31. The horror fantasy will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Pa Vijay has also written the film.

The film is produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh and Aneesh Arjun Dev. The technical crew of Aghathiyaa includes Dipak Kumar Padhy as the cinematographer and San Lokesh is handling the edits. P Shanmugan is the art director. Besides directing the film, Pa Vijay has also served as the lyricist.

Jiiva was last seen in the sci-fi thriller drama Black. The film is available for streaming on Prime Video. Directed by KG Balasubramani, the film co-stars Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film revolves around a couple who go to their villa, in the outskirts of the city, to spend the weekend, as they get trapped in a black hole and altering timelines.
