aha announces new original film Senapathi, marking Rajendra Prasad’s OTT debut

Telugu streaming platform aha has recently announced a new original film titled Senapathi. The film will star Rajendra Prasad in the lead and will mark the actor's OTT debut.

Actor Sai Dharam Tej made the announcement via his official Twitter handle. He shared a motion poster for the upcoming aha original film. The clip opens with Prasad’s voice narrating a story to a young listener, regarding a king and his seven sons who go on a fishing trip. As the narration goes on, the video depicts several scattered puzzle pieces slowly falling into place to form a picture showing an intense looking Prasad. An outline of a gun is shown dotting his face, which cocks as a few pieces fall out of place.

Prasad will play a character called Murthy in the film, which is touted to be a drama centred around the theme of revenge and redemption. The Tollywood star’s role in the film will also be a step away from his usual comedic role, as his upcoming role will take on more serious and sombre hues.

The upcoming film is directed by Pavan Sadineni, popular for helming Prema Ishq Kaadhal. In addition to Rajendra, Senapathi will also feature Naresh Agastya, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Harshavardhan and Rakendu Mouli in pivotal roles. The movie is produced under the banner of Gold Box Entertainments by Sushmitha Konidela and Vishnu Prasad.

Senapathi will premiere on aha. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
