Ahaana Krishna to play a die-hard Mammootty fan in Nancy Rani, second poster out

The makers of Ahaana Krishna’s upcoming movie Nancy Rani released the second poster from the film featuring its ensemble cast. With the poster, the makers also announced the release plans for the movie, which had completed its shoot some time ago.

Nancy Rani has Ahaana playing a die-hard Mammootty fan as well as an aspiring actor. The film traverses through her life, which is closely tied to cinema. Told through humour, the film showcases the struggles she has to face while trying to break into the film industry.

The movie’s second poster also gave the viewers a closer look at its fantastic ensemble cast featuring Arjun Ashokan, Dhruvan, Lena, Sreenivasan, Lal, Aju Varghese, Irshad, Indrans, Sunny Wayne, Mallika Sukumaran, Abu Salim, Azeez Nedumangad, Sohan Seenulal, Jolly Chirayath, Sudheer Karamana and Mala Parvathy. Apart from the known faces, the movie also has close to 130 newcomers as part of the cast and several film students as part of its crew.

The film marks the debut directorial of Joseph Manu James, who had debuted as a child artiste through AM Kurians and went on to work in several languages. Apart from locations in Kerala such as Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, Thodupuzha, Munnar, Vattavada and Kuttikanam, the movie also had schedules in the US and Greece. The movie is expected to hit theatres in December 2022.

The makers had released the first look poster of the film two years ago on Ahaana’s 25th birthday. Touted to be a fun-filled entertainer, the movie has cinematographer Ragesh Narayanan, editor Basodh T Baburaj and composers Manu Gopinath and Stephin Joseph as part of the crew.

Ahaana’s previous release was Pidikittapulli, which dropped directly on JioCinema. She has also completed shooting for Prashobh Vijayan’s Adi, which has Shine Tom Chacko as the male protagonist. The film, which is produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, is expected to be released by the end of this year. Ahaana, meanwhile, also starred in the web series Me Myself & I.
