Accompanying him were Ponniyin Selvan actors Jayam Ravi and Jayaram. Pictures of the trio at the temple with the irumudi have been doing the rounds on social media. Speaking to the media after the darshanam, Jayam Ravi stated that it was Guru Swami Jayaram and Shashi Swami's (Jayam Ravi) ritual to visit the temple every Makara Jyothi.

"I feel that the bad times have come to an end. Just like they say there is light at the end of the tunnel, I feel very positive after the darshan." Jayaram, took a dig at Jayam Ravi saying that Guru swamy has not got any dakshina so far. He added that he came to Sabarimala every year and it's been almost 50 years since his journey started." It is to be noted that Jayaram and Jayam Ravi had visited Sabarimala ahead of the release of Ponniyin Selvan as well.

In the meantime, the sequel to Ponniyin Selvan is all set to hit screens on April 28. The makers had released a glimpse of the sequel and had announced that the Cholas will be back soon. Ponniyin Selvan stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala to name a few. The magnum opus is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
