Ahead of its OTT release, here's how much Daaku Maharaaj made in theaters

Daaku Maharaaj is Balakrishna's latest film, which ended up as a decent hit at the box office. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film featured music by Thaman and was produced by Naga Vamsi and Trivikram Srinivas under their home banners.

Netflix acquired the digital rights to the film and was initially set to stream it on February 9, 2025. However, that did not happen. Now, reports suggest that Daaku Maharaaj will premiere on OTT around the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Ahead of its OTT release, let’s take a look at the film’s final box office collections. Released on January 12, 2025, the action drama was made on a budget of approximately Rs 70 crore. As per the latest trade reports, Daaku Maharaaj earned Rs 87 crore net by the end of its theatrical run.

While the profit margin wasn’t substantial, all parties involved ended up in a safe zone. The makers recovered a major portion of the budget through digital rights, which were reportedly sold to Netflix for around Rs 40 crore.

Balakrishna scores his fourth consecutive hit

The film’s Sankranthi release and the extended holiday weekend significantly contributed to its box-office performance. With this success, Balakrishna has now scored his fourth consecutive hit and continues his strong run at the box office. Meanwhile, his OTT talk show, Unstoppable with NBK, was also a major success. The fourth season featured top stars like Ram Charan, Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, and Dulquer Salmaan as guests.

Daaku Maharaaj presented Balakrishna in a new avatar, and his restrained yet powerful performance impressed fans. It remains to be seen how the film will be received on OTT by those who missed it in theaters. Stay tuned for more updates.
