Ahead of the Oscars, the popular online movie site, IMDb revealed the list of 'the top 10 highest-rated Ram Charan movies'. And surprisingly, Charan's latest blockbuster RRR is not the number 1 movie despite it becoming a phenomenal success in many parts of the world. According to IMDb's rank, with a rating of 8.2, Charan's Rangasthalam enjoys more popularity among his fans than RRR, which has secured a rating of 7.9.
Director SS Rajamouli's directorial is at the number 2 slot on the list. It's followed by Magadheera, Dhruva and Orange. Charan's debut movie Chirutha with a score of 5.2 is the least favourite among the fans.
Rangasthalam is a milestone film in Charan's career as it provided him with the right scope to showcase his acting talent. It is with this film Charan became a star actor. Written and directed by Sukumar of Pushpa: The Rise fame, the film saw Charan essay the role of a man with a hearing impairment. The revenge drama was released in cinemas in 2018 and became a hit both critically and commercially. The film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj. It's streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
In RRR, Charan shared screen space with his counterpart Jr NTR. Rajamouli has succeeded in maintaining the delicate balance between the stars in the narration much to the satisfaction of their fans. If the movie were perceived to have favoured one over the other, it would have sparked massive outrage. But, Rajamouli's craftmanship as a storyteller averted it.
