Ahead of Sundarakanda's release, Sridevi Vijaykumar’s comeback speech wins hearts

Sundarakanda is a new-age romantic drama, which marks the comeback of Nara Rohith and Sridevi Vijaykumar. The film is all set to hit the screens on August 27, 2025, and there is a decent vibe for the film as the trailers have caught the attention of audiences.

Sridevi Vijaykumar makes a comeback to Telugu cinema

For Sridevi, Sundarakanda is even more special as she is making a comeback to Telugu cinema after fourteen long years. She was last seen in Ravi Teja's Veera, which ended as a big flop at the box office.

Speaking at the pre-release event, Sridevi stated that she is thankful to the Telugu audience for giving her so much love even after so many years. "It has been quite a long time since I have done a Telugu film, but the audience has welcomed me so well. Ever since the film was announced, there has been a positive vibe about my inclusion in the project, in the promos of the film, and in the way I looked in Sundarakanda," said Sridevi.

Sundarakanda is a mature love story and has full-on comedy, with the likes of senior actor Naresh also playing a key role. But Sridevi is all praise for her co-star Nara Rohith and says that she has learned a lot from him. 

"Rohith has been a pillar of support right from the day the film began. I admire his style of acting, which is subtle yet impactful. Our chemistry, the comedy, and the emotions in our roles will be something new for the audience," adds Sridevi.

Sundarakanda has been written and directed by Venkatesh Nimmalapudi and has music by Leon James. The songs have caught on quite well, and the film also has Vriti Vaghani as the other female lead. 

Nara Rohith, on the other hand, stated that Sundarakanda has been in the making for three long years and was supposed to be his comeback, but Bhairavam happened. With such decent hype, Sridevi says that Sundarakanda will surely be a huge hit and that the entire family should watch it on the big screen.
