Ahsaas Channa and Mohammad Samad who are popular faces on the Internet have teamed up for a short film titled Transistor. The movie is set in 1975 and is directed by Prem Singh. While Starving Scotch Productions, Sunday Films and Kevin Kailash Muthiah are the producers. Arre Studio's Transistor is currently streaming on Amazon miniTV and is a tale of human emotions.
Before the short film's release, the makers dropped a trailer of Transistor and while describing the premise, the makers stated, "Transistor is a heart-touching story of two teenagers and how the proclamation of the National Emergency and a Transistor changed their relationship. Kya ye love story poori ho payegi?"
Transistor is a 25-minute long film that is a nuanced take on love blossoming despite societal limits and prejudices.
Meanwhile, during a recent interaction with OTTPlay, Ahsaas was asked about the web as the future of entertainment. To which she stated, "I didn’t consciously plan to work in the digital space. It happened four years ago when the OTT space wasn’t as big as it is right now. I did it by chance and not as per a plan. Once I started, I blended in and got lucky, which is why you see me in so many shows."
When quizzed about the re-opening of theatres changing the trend for OTT, the actor replied that even before the pandemic, OTT and web shows were a hit with audiences. Ahsaas said that it was the pandemic that gave it a push without a doubt as people started releasing their films on OTT platforms.
She also shared that even if things get back to normal, it won’t make much of a difference. Ahsaas added, "People will still sit back and watch what they like. Web series have to be released on OTT anyway. It’s not a trend anymore, but a part of the entertainment industry. It’s as big as films and TV."
