Review:
The Star Wars series, Ahsoka, just got interesting. Part five - Shadow Warrior – is mainly based on Anakin Skywalker’s training to Ahsoka. However, it does not end there. There’s a side to Anakin we all have been waiting to re-explore. This side is back and is the highlight of the episode.
The episode will make sure that you are filled with nostalgia. There are moments when you will be taken back in time - to The Clone Wars and there are times when a smile will not leave your face. It forces you to see one of the strongest Sith members - Darth Vader - in a new light. The Siege of Mandalore is touched upon too.
Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka is only the second best thing after Darth Vader aka Anakin Skywalker. She brings a certain sensitivity to her character, which definitely works in her favour.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla takes the lead this time. However, like all the episodes so far, her screen presence or the lack of it, is questionable and by that we mean how her character is written in a way that it leaves only minimal impact.
Chopper, a version of R2D2, is introduced and plays an important part in the episode. When teamed up with Syndulla’s son Jacen, the two are unbeatable.
Huyang will remind you of Sabine Wren. You do miss her when the focus shifts to Ahsoka but till then, Anakin steals the limelight.
Verdict:
The Dave Filoni directorial episode is very much worth your time but mainly because of its first half. That you can expect when the biggest Star Wars villain makes a comeback but as a mentor. The scenes will bring back memories, even of Luke Skywalker. By that itself you know that this episode is most definitely one you should not miss.
