All India Rankers is the latest ETV Win original that has caught the imagination of audiences. Not many were aware that the series was even in the works. Despite featuring popular names, it initially went unnoticed. However, ever since positive reviews and word of mouth began spreading, the series has become a hot topic and is clocking solid viewership on ETV Win.

AIR is now streaming on OTTplay Premium

The series is set in an ITT academy in Vijayawada and portrays the lives of students, their struggles, caste-based issues, and coming-of-age emotions. However, one section of the audience is now upset, claiming that their caste has been unfairly targeted in the show. Several social media comments suggest that certain scenes portray their community in a negative light.

Others argue that the show reflects the culture of the 1990s, when caste-based discrimination was indeed prevalent in colleges in Guntur and Vijayawada. The issue is slowly getting blown out of proportion, with the media now giving it increased attention.

AIR lands in a major controversy

The makers have clarified that All India Rankers was created to reflect real-life happenings in ITT colleges and that it has no caste-based agenda. Sandeep Raj, a popular Tollywood director from Vijayawada, has produced the series, which is now benefiting from the free publicity generated by the controversy.

Directed by Joseph Clinton, the series has already been declared a hit. Viewers who haven’t yet streamed AIR can watch it now on OTTplay. Harsh Roshan, known for Nani’s Court, plays the lead in this low-budget but impactful project. With other Telugu releases failing, AIR is gaining even more online traction. It remains to be seen how the controversy will unfold in the coming days.
