Aishwarya Rai Bachchan breaks silence on the negative impact of 'false writing,' calling it 'insensitive'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stated on Tuesday that publishing incorrect information is unnecessary and insensitive, and she hopes the media won't perpetuate it.

The Delhi High Court ordered multiple YouTube channels last week to stop posting false information on the health of Aaradhya Bachchan, the daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya, since doing so displays "morbid perversity."

During the press conference for her next film, Ponniyin Selvan: II, Aishwarya was questioned about the unimportant news coverage that offends people's feelings.

"It's so nice that a member of the media is recognising that that does exist," the 49-year-old actor stated, adding, "So that gives us great hope that you are obviously not going to perpetuate that; you are not going to encourage that, and thank you very much for your wise recognition of the negative impact of false writing or unnecessary writing, which is insensitive and unnecessary."

"So thank you so much for your support for the sentiment that we all share and for your wisdom in recognising that," she continued.

Regarding her professional endeavours, Aishwarya is now promoting Ponniyin Selvan: II, the second instalment of filmmaker Mani Ratnam's movie version of novelist Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 Tamil novel of the same name.

For the event, the actor wore traditional Indian garb. She donned a similar dupatta and an ivory anarkali outfit with shimmering embellishments. She kept her long hair open and completed her ensemble with an eye-catching emerald neckpiece.

Aishwarya portrays two characters in the movie: Mandakini, Poonguzhali's aunt, and Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor. The film is based on the title novel by novelist Kalki. The early years of the Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman, who would go on to become the famed ruler Rajaraja I, are dramatised in the first portion of the movie.

The film, which also stars Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, will be shown in theatres nationwide on Friday.
