Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making a big effort to promote Ponniyin Selvan: I, in which she plays two roles. The actor has successfully juggled her South and Bollywood projects. She recently discussed the contentious North versus South film topic during a press conference.

At the event, Aishwarya was heard saying that one must abandon the conventional ways of viewing artists and movies because they are living in a fantastic time. The actor believes that the removal of all these restrictions makes this a wonderful time to be alive. She also said that Indian films are known everywhere. In fact, Aishwarya said that people want to view the movie from every angle.

She is a well-known actor in Bollywood, but Aishwarya made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil drama Iruvar (1997).

The film reunites Mani Ratnam and Aishwarya on the big screen. The actor earlier stated, when asked about the subject, that she worked in her first film with him, who is her mentor. She considers it a blessing that she had the chance to work with him to begin her acting career. Aishwarya didn't have any official training when she started working with Mani Ratnam, the ideal guru, and she just dove right in. However, the best teacher is experienced, which is divine and spiritual for her.

They frequently discuss the basis and method of their work, ethics, and the way one concentrates on the art and creativity itself rather than the extraneous details because they belong in the background and aren't the main focus of their creative journey. And with Mani Ratnam, there's nowhere else she could have started her approach to her craft.

Ponniyin Selvan: I is based on the book of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Aishwarya plays Nandini, a Pazhuvoor queen, and Mandakini Devi in the movie. The period drama is slated to premiere on September 30, 2022.
