The Bachchan family in Bollywood is one of the most reputed families in Bollywood. All the family members are actively working in their lives – be it Amitabh Bachchan at the age of 81, or Aaradhya Bachchan – who attends prestigious fashion shows at the age of 12. This morning, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan greeted her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan on his 81st birthday with warmth and love. However, her post has sparked an online debate.
What’s the news?
Today, Aishwarya dropped an Instagram post that featured Amitabh Bachchan smiling with Aaradhya. The caption of the post read, “Always smiling. God Bless.” The caption included a bunch of red hearts as well.
Soon after this post surfaced online, internet users wondered why Aishwarya had cropped Jaya Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda, and Agastya Nanda out of the frame. Many of them were quick to point out that all was not well between Aishwarya Rai and her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan.
One Instagram user commented on the post: ‘Why do you have to crop?’
“The wishes seem so plastic. Wonder how celebrities with all the privacy in the world have friction in families,” commented another Instagrammer.
One more internet user added, “Why did you have to crop the other kids (Navya and Agastya) from the publicly available photo? You could have used another one if you wanted to post just Aradhaya and Big B photos. It is tasteless!”
For the unaware, last evening, Amitabh's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda had posted the original picture featuring herself, her brother Agastya Nanda, her sister Aaradhya as well as their grandmother Jaya Bachchan.

Meanwhile, Amitabh's son Abhishek Bachchan extended heartfelt wishes to his father. Taking to Instagram and X, Abhishek lovingly wrote, "My idol, my hero, my inspiration and my best friend! Happy 81st birthday, Pa. Love you and always got your back." Together, the father-son duo posed for a photo together.
