We had told you Aishwarya Rajesh was playing a cabbie in Driver Jamuna. Recently, the first look poster of this intense crime-thriller got released, where the actor with a bruised face, was seen sipping her tea.
Directed by Kinslin of Vathikuchi fame, the team has wrapped up its shoot and is currently occupied with the re-recording and sound designing.
Kinslin tells the Times of India, "I thought Aishwarya Rajesh would be perfect for the role and approached her. The story happens in one day... one trip that she takes from one end of Chennai to another.”
Interestingly, the whole film was shot in live locations. “Usually, a car film will be shot inside a studio, on a blue mat. Even though we tried this for two days, Aishwarya was keen on doing it live. There was no dupe and the actress herself managed to drive the car at a certain speed and brought out the emotions needed for the character effortlessly. We had Anal Arasu master who choreographed the action sequences. All the chase sequences are realistic and Aishwarya handled them well,” Kinslin added, in his interview.
Driver Jamuna has Aadukalam Naren, Sriranjani, Kavitha Bharathi and Pandi, in key roles. “Stand-up comedian Abishek Kumar and Aishwarya’s brother Manikandan will be seen in important roles," the published report added.
Kinslin assures the story would be relevant to all metro cities. "It is about how a cab driver faces an unusual day at work and how she gets out of the situation!"
Backed by SP Choudhary of 18 Reels, Driver Jamuna has music by Ghibran, editing by Ramar, cinematography by Gokul Benoy, and art direction by Don Bala.
"Aishwarya Rajesh has prepared for this role by interacting with several female cab drivers and observing their body language and mannerisms," reads, a report published by Cinema Express.
Driver Jamuna will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
