The movie will be produced by Passion Studios and Stone Bench Films and is presented by diector Kartik Subburaj, whose last outing, Jagame Thandiram, too, released on Netflix, in June. Billed as a horror thriller set against the backdrop of a hill station, Boomika will have newbies Vidhu, Ayaan Abhishek and Surya Ganapathy playing crucial roles in it. On Monday, the social media account of Stone Bench Films posted the announcement of the debut artists. The movie has Italian cinematographer Roberto Zazzara cranking the camera, Prithvi Chandrasekhar composing music and Anand Geraldin in charge of editing.

An excited Aishwarya Rajesh had taken to social media to post the announcement of the TV premiere of her movie. She tweeted, “Extremely happy to announce that #Boomika will have its Tamil Premiere on @vijaytelevision Cant wait 4 u all to watch my Eco thriller-horror directed by @RathindranR #BoomikaonVijayTV.”

According to the makers, Boomika deals with a theme which will be an ode to our environment. Shot in Nilgiri Hills, we hear that the movie revolves around the theme of forest encroachment.

As the uncertainty with regard to opening of theatres continues in Tamil Nadu, it is said that more Tamil movies are likely to go the OTT way. Looks like movie buffs can expect many big ticket flicks like Soorarai Pottru and Jagame Thandiram on different OTT avenues soon.
