The team of Aishwarya Rajesh's Soppana Sundari dropped the motion poster from the film, which also included the character's posters. While Aishwarya Rajesh's character is called Agalya, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli will be seen as Thenmozhi, Redin Kingsley as Dijith, Deepa Shankar as Selvi Amma, Karunakaran as Durai, Sathish, Sunil Reddy as Inspector Kannan, Augustin as Poor, Bjorn Surrao as Rich. Soppana Sundari is said to be a laugh riot. A two-minute promo video, which was released earlier, revealed that Aishwarya Rajesh has been kidnapped and tied to a chair in an abandoned factory where she is seen crying for help. However, things take a funny turn when she realizes that she was abducted by children and they reveal the reason behind it.
Soppana Sundari is directed by SG Charles and bankrolled by Balaji Subbu and Vivek Ravichandran. Ahimsa Entertainment, who distributed Vijay's Varisu overseas, has now taken the plunge into film production with the film. The makers had earlier dropped a poster and had captioned it, "We're thrilled to announce that we're making our big debut in production by associating with the film, 'Soppana Sundar' ! This movie, produced by the amazing team at Hamsini Entertainment, is going to be a total blast (sic)."
Interestingly, the title Soppana Sundari, is inspired by a scene from director Gangai Amaren's 1989 film, Karagattakaran, which involves a conversation between the leading comedians of the film, Goundamani and Senthil. The film featuring Ramarajan and Kanaka was a massive hit at the box office and the songs by Isaignani were chartbusters.
Aishwarya Rajesh was last seen in Run Baby Run and The Great Indian Kitchen. She has a series of films in the pipeline, Farhana, Mohandas, Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga and Manik, Idam Porul Yaeval and Dhruva Natchathiram. Music director Harris Jayaraj had recently dropped an update that he was working on the music of Dhruva Natchathiram, thus confirming the film's revival.
