Ajay-Atul set to compose for Nithiin’s Yellamma, marking their Tollywood comeback

Nithiin has been in the film industry for nearly a decade and a half, but his success streak has been inconsistent. While he has delivered big hits, several of his subsequent films have underperformed. Currently, he is working on two films, Robinhood and Thammudu, both of which are in production. Additionally, Nithiin has signed a new film titled Yellamma, directed by Venu Yeldandi of Balagam fame.

Ajay Atul make their comeback to Tollywood

Interestingly, Yellamma was initially offered to Nani, who declined the project. Director Venu then approached Nithiin, who readily agreed to take it on. The pre-production phase is progressing at a brisk pace, and the latest update is that renowned Hindi composer Ajay-Atul has been brought on board to compose the music for Yellamma. This decision is notable, as it is unusual for a non-Telugu composing duo to score music for a film set in rural Telangana.

Ajay-Atul made their Telugu debut with Harish Shankar's Shock, starring Ravi Teja and Jyothika. Their music for the film was well-received, and they later composed for Adipurush, a Hindi film starring Prabhas. Now, with Yellamma, they are making a return to Telugu cinema.

Yellamma stars Nithiin in the lead role and Dil Raju is the producer

An official confirmation of their involvement is expected soon, but director Harish Shankar has already welcomed them back with a tweet: “Ajay-Atul were my first music directors, and our first song was Madhuram Madhuram, written by the legendary Veturi. Glad to see them back in TFI.”

Yellamma is being produced by Dil Raju and is scheduled to begin filming in late summer 2025, once Nithiin wraps up Thammudu. Meanwhile, the makers of Robinhood have locked in a release date of March 28, 2025. 

Nithiin has already begun promotions for the film, which is generating buzz due to a special cameo by Australian cricketer David Warner. As for Yellamma, fans are eager to see how Ajay-Atul will craft the music for this deeply rooted Telangana-based story. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects.
