Fans of murder mysteries can barely contain themselves in anticipation of The Great Indian Murder’s release. And it seems Ajay Devgn is one among them as the star is seen skillfully steering clear of plans and marking his calendar to catch the show’s premiere, in this new promo video.
The short clip begins with Devgn’s reverie being interrupted by a phone call, where presumably the person on the other end of the line asks the star if he is free on February 4. We then see the star make up a string of hilarious excuses, ranging from going on a trip to the mechanic to fix his car to a cricket match with friends. In the end, he reveals that the string of excuses he made up was so that he could peacefully watch The Great Indian Murder when it releases, and recommends audiences do the same.

The upcoming series is based on the novel Six Suspects, written by Vikas Swarup and was previously titled after the book. The series revolves around the investigation into the murder of a politician’s son, Vicky Rai, who is found dead at a party at his house, which he had thrown to celebrate his acquittal, ironically, in a rape and murder case.
Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi star as the investigator duo who are tasked with handling the case and bringing the killer to justice. Through the course of their investigation, they round up six suspects who were guests at the party when the murder took place.
Raghubir Yadav, Ashutosh Rana, Sharib Hashmi, Amey Wagh, Jatin Goswami, Shashank Arora and Paoli Dam also star in the series, which is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
The Great Indian Murder will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 4 and will be available to stream in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
