Actor-director Ajay Devgn, who is all set to release his new film Bholaa, says that he is hopeful that after the success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan all the upcoming films will do well at the box office, including his new action thriller.
His last film Drishyam 2, which also starred Tabu, earned approximately ₹345 crores at the box office. So, it is only obvious for the audience to pin high hopes on Ajay’s upcoming film too, which has already garnered a lot of attention through its teasers and trailer.
Talking about the same, Ajay said, “Honestly speaking, right now, I am concentrating on finishing the post-production work; whatever is left of the film. I do not know when I will start thinking about the release. But recently we had an extraordinary collection for Pathaan, in India and overseas. It did a fabulous business. So, we are just keeping our fingers crossed that all the next releases will also do well at the box office. We are hoping that Bholaa will also do well.”
Ajay, who started his career as an actor, entered into the field of film direction in 2008 with the film U, Me aur Hum, followed by Shivaay and Runway 34. When asked whether he likes acting more than directing a film, Ajay said, “I think I enjoy the process of working and I do not segregate between directing and acting. For me, it is all one. It is in totality, filmmaking. I enjoy waking up in the morning and going to work. So, for me, it is the combination and you cannot enjoy one without the other.”
As a producer also he delivered some acclaimed films like Parched, Tanhaji and Tribhanga among many others. Bholaa is a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. It also features Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar, as well as Abhishek Bachchan in a special appearance.
Bholaa is slated to release in 3D on March 30.
