Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan met with an accident in Hyderabad recently during the shooting of Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film, Project K. Reacting to his injury, actor-director Ajay Devgn - who is all set to release his new directorial venture Bholaa later this month - explains how tough it is for an actor to do action in films.

Ajay was speaking at the trailer launch of Bholaa in Mumbai recently. He attended the event along with the cast and crew members of the upcoming film. According to the makers, it was the first time that a trailer was launched in IMAX 3D.

When asked about safety measures on film sets, referring to Big B’s injury, Ajay said, “Our job is both difficult and easy at the same time. Mr Bachchan from where he started and then later from where he started, there were no safety measures, no padding or cables, etc. I think we have injured almost every part of our body.”

Recollecting the filming of the 1998 action-drama movie Major Saab, in which Amitabh and Ajay acted together, the actor said, “He [Amitabh] did some of the shots that we cannot even imagine. I remember getting injured when we were doing Major Saab also. We had to jump from a 30-foot high place, and I told him not to do that, because it was a night sequence and we could have done that differently, but he insisted on doing it. We had to jump together. He had an injury back then also. But now, things are much easier and safe. Now, there are doctors and ambulances on the set, and it is relatively easier. Thank god for that because as we are ageing, things are becoming easier for all of us.”

The actors were last seen together in the film, Runway 34, which was also directed by Ajay. His upcoming film Bholaa is a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. It also features Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar, as well as Abhishek Bachchan in a special appearance.

The film is all set to hit the theatres on March 30.
