Ajay Devgn to make his OTT debut with Luther remake?

Having made its digital debut with The Big Bull just last week, Ajay Devgn FFilm’s is back with another digital release. But this time, it's the actor himself who will be seen in the lead, making his OTT debut.

With theatres closing again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many Bollywood celebrities have turned to OTT platforms. Devgn is the latest addition to this list.

Earlier in March, the actor had left a cryptic tweet on his Twitter profile, asking his fans to call him Sudarshan. Evidently a promotion for his upcoming project, it was later revealed that Sudarshan is the name of Devgn’s maiden OTT project. Online portal Bollywood Hungama recently revealed that Devgn’s OTT debut will be a remake of the British show Luther. Idris Elba's Luther is a psychological crime-thriller series.

It has also been hinted that Ileana D’Cruz will be playing a pivotal role in the upcoming series. The duo of Devgn and D’Cruz has previously worked in films like Badshaho and Raid. Another detail that is making the rounds about Devgn’s OTT debut is that it will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

Luther follows John Luther, a detective who happens to befriend a psychopath and a murderer. Not being able to arrest the two due to insufficient evidence, the three team up to solve cases together. The series has been nominated for multiple Emmy awards.

Devgn was last involved in the production of The Big Bull. He has also been directing his third film called Mayday, which stars Amitabh Bachchan. Additionally, the actor is set to play a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.
