Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India was initially set to release on June 29 on Disney+ Hotstar. However, speculations are rife that the movie's release date has been advanced and that it could actually hit the OTT platform this Eid on May 13.

Earlier today, Devgn posted a video on Twitter informing the fans that something big is going to be announced on April 20. The fans are hoping that it has got something to do with the release date of the movie, which marks the debut directorial of Abhishek Dudhaiya.

Bhuj: The Pride of India is a war action film set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War that also has Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, and Ammy Virk in pivotal roles. Based on true incidents, the movie revolves around IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik, who was responsible for reconstructing the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from a local village at Bhuj airport.

Incidentally, Devgn is also set to star in the Hindi remake of the UK series Luther, which has Idris Elba in the lead. The series will also be streaming on an OTT platform. It remains to be seen if the big announcement would be about Bhuj or the Luther remake or something else entirely.

Meanwhile, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, which is slotted for a July 30 theatrical release, is also reportedly looking at an OTT release due to the rising COVID cases in the country and consequent shutdown of theatres.
