Ajay Devgn's Dhamaal 4 postponed due to Dhurandhar Part 2 and Toxic; Know the new release date

Bollywood cinema is ending on an amazing note as Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar has taken the box office by storm since day 1. Apart from the plot, Akshaye Khanna has been getting immense praise for his performance. While Dhurandhar keeps rocking at the box office, the makers announced Dhurandhar Part 2 will be released on March 19, 2026. Amid this, a report suggests that Ajay Devgn's Dhamaal 4 has been postponed to avoid a box office clash with not only Dhurandhar Part 2 but also Yash's Toxic. 

Dhamaal 4 new release timeline

Ajay Devgn announced his upcoming comic caper Dhaamal 4 for an Eid 2026 release in September 2025. Amid this, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 is now confirmed for a March 19, 2026, release, while Yash’s highly anticipated Toxic is also set to release during the Eid weekend. To avoid the box office clash, Dhamaal 4 has been postponed. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “After multiple discussions and seeing the massive success of Dhurandhar, Ajay doesn't want to risk clashing with the sequel of this Aditya Dhar film. They are now eyeing a May 2026 release for Dhaamal 4.”

The source also added that Ajay has always prioritised the well-being of the industry; hence, he understands the potential impact of Dhurandhar 2, especially after the success of the first film. "He doesn’t want to pit a comic caper against a film that resonates with the masses and tackles political conflicts. He believes Dhurandhar is an important franchise that deserves a clear run," the source added.

Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar, brings back the comedy franchise with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi. It reportedly shifts from jungle adventures to a new plot involving Devgn as an IRS officer chasing a corrupt politician. The film promises its signature slapstick, treasure hunts, and chaotic fun.
