Ajay Gnanamuthu announces Demonte Colony series; Demonte Colony 2 to feature Arulnithi

Director Ajay Gnanamuthu has announced the next film in the Demonte Colony series. The film, Demonte Colony 2, is said to the second one in the horror thriller series. What's interesting is that the announcement has come on the seventh year, since the release of the original film, which had Arulnithi Tamilarasu in the lead. While the original was directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, the second film is directed by Venky Venugopal, an assistant of Gnanamuthu. Ajay has penned the script of the film and will be doubling up as the producer as well. Arulnithi will play the lead in this project as well. 

Ajay Gnanamuthu wrote on his social media page, "With all your love and blessings, Super happy and excited to announce my collaboration with my first hero @arulnithitamil bro for #DemonteColony2 ❤️ @VenkyVenugopal the Co-Director of #Cobra will be directing the film!! #7YearsofDemonteColony (sic)." He also released a statement, in which he stated that there will be more films in the series.

Arulnithi, too, celebrated seven years of Demonte Colony with the post, "#7YearsofDemonteColony #demontecolony2 story and screenplay by one of my fav @AjayGnanamuthu ❤ direction by @VenkyVenugopal 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 (sic)."

Demonte Colony (2015) had Ramesh Thilak, Sanath and Abishek Joseph George and is a fictional story set in Demonte Colony. The rest of the star cast includes MS Bhaskar, Singampuli, Jangiri Madhumitha and Yogi Babu to name a few. The film has cinematography by Aravinnd Singh and editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan. Music for the film was by Keba Jeremiah and S Chinna.

In the meantime, Ajay Gnanamuthu is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film, with Vikram, Cobra. The film is an action thriller and has an ensemble cast comprising Srinidhi Shetty, Miya George, Roshan Mathew, Sarjano Khalid, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Kaniha, Mrinalini Ravi and KS Ravikumar. Music for the film is by AR Rahman. The film marks the acting debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan and the Tamil debut of Srinidhi Shetty.
