Ajith's action entertainer Vedalam has turned 7. The film, which hit screens in 2015, was one among Ajith's four-part collaboration with director Siruthai Siva, the others being Veeram, Vivegam and Viswasam. And on the occasion of the seventh anniversary, the film's editor Ruben released an unseen trailer from the film. He wrote on his social media handle,"GlorytoGod As promised to the beloved fans of our #Ajith sir & To celebrate the 7th release Anniversary of #Vedalam ,here s my Trailer Cut. #7yearsofVedalam #VedalamTrailer #SivaandTeam @directorsiva @anirudhofficial @vetrivisuals (sic)."

The film has an ensemble star cast including Lakshmi Menon, Shruti Haasan, Rahul Dev, Kabir Duhan Singh, Thambi Ramaiah, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mayilsamy, Rajendran, Appukutty, to name a few. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography is by Vetri. The songs Aaluma Doluma and Veera Vinayaka were chartbusters. Ajith plays a gangster Vedalam alias Ganesh, who dons a different avatar and moves to Kolkata to protect his sister from a dreaded mafia. The film was a huge blockbuster at the box office and a perfect mass project for Ajith.


In the meantime, Ajith is currently gearing up for the release of his next, Thunivu, which is helmed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. The film is the third collaboration of the trio after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Thunivu is said to revolve around a bank robbery which took place in Punjab in the '80s. Thunivu is likely to have some heavy-duty action for the fans. The film has Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Amir, Pavani Reddy as part of the star cast. It is slated to hit screens on Pongal 2023 and will clash with Vijay's family drama and action entertainer Varisu.

After Thunivu, Ajith will be teaming up with director Vignesh Shivan for his next. Vignesh Shivan's last release was Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha.
