Akhanda: 100 days-function to be organised for the Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pragya Jaiswal starrer in Kurnool

If one were to name the first commercial success that gave a major boost to Telugu cinema after the second wave of the pandemic, it's quite certain they would discuss Akhanda. The film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pragya Jaiswal, Srikanth broke several records during its initial weeks and turned out to be the biggest hit in the career of the star and the director Boyapati Sreenu. Akhanda was produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations and went onto have its digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar and was a smash hit on OTT as well.

The film is all set to complete its 100-day run in select theatres and commemorating the same, a 100 days function of Akhanda titled ‘Akhanda Kruthagnatha Sabha’ will be organised in Kurnool on March 12. The entire cast, crew is expected to grace the event. Akhanda, earlier, was a rare Telugu film in the recent times to celebrate its 50-day run in over 100 centres across the Telugu states. 

Akhanda had a great team of course, but arrived as a dark horse at the box office and braved past many unfavourable conditions like the third wave of COVID-19, low-ticket pricing in Andhra Pradesh, emerging true blockbuster at the ticket window. All the buyers were in profit zone and the content surrounding the signficiance of mythology, aghoras clicked with audiences big time. The film had music by S Thaman, cinematographed by Ram Prasad and edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
