Akhanda 2 box office Day 4: Balakrishna's film fails Monday test, makes Rs 6 crore, yet to land in safe zone

Akhanda 2 started with a bang, as the action drama earned Rs 8 crore from just the premiere shows, according to tracking portal Sacnilk. The same streak continued despite the negative word of mouth as Akhanda 2 made Rs 22 crore on day 1, Rs 16 crore on day 2, and Rs 15 crore on day 3.

But all eyes were on the first Monday and how the film would fare. Well, the latest update is that Akhanda 2 has made Rs 6 crore on Monday, as per Sacnilk, and with this, the total collection has crossed Rs 70 crore. 

Taking the Monday collection into consideration, one gets the idea that occupancy has crashed, and Rs 6 crore for a star hero film is quite low. By the looks of it, Akhanda 2 will surely falter at the box office in the days to come. 

Boyapati Sreenu directed the film, which was made exclusively for the fans and masses, and it did impress them. But on a general note, the film has failed to live up to all expectations. 

As the film was postponed at the last minute due to financial issues, there was slightly negative word of mouth. That has carried over over the last few days, and this has shown in the occupancy in theaters.

When it comes to US collections, Akhanda 2 has crossed the $800k mark, as per M9 News, and will touch the $1 million mark by this weekend. With not many films getting released in the days to come, we need to see how much Akhanda 2 will make by the end of its run. 

One of the sources close to the trade has revealed to us that, despite taking a good start, Akhanda 2 will still see some losses for distributors in the Telugu states.
