Akhanda 2 teaser: Balakrishna's Thandaavam is power packed but a bit over the top

Akhanda was a smash hit at the box office and marked the return of Nandamuri Balakrishna with a bang. Whenever he teams up with director Boyapati Srinu, success is almost guaranteed—and the same has happened every time the duo has collaborated. Now, they are back with the sequel, Akhanda 2: Thandavam.

To mark Balakrishna's birthday, the makers have released the film’s first-look teaser, and it looks absolutely power-packed. Boyapati Srinu’s films are known for their loud action, but Akhanda 2 seems to have taken things to an entirely new level. 

Balakrishna is showcased as a powerful Aghora, and the way he appears in an intense getup, delivering impactful dialogues, is a feast for his fans. Composer Thaman elevates the teaser further with a thumping background score that complements the visuals perfectly. 

Though the teaser may appear loud, it’s crafted for a theatrical experience and will likely work big time on the big screen. Akhanda featured Balakrishna in a dual role and had a gripping storyline. 

The sequel continues the story, and it remains to be seen what Boyapati Srinu has planned this time around. Pragya Jaiswal is once again paired opposite Balakrishna in this big-budget film, produced by the 14 Reels banner.

Akhanda 2 release date

With the teaser, the makers have also announced that Akhanda 2 will hit screens on September 25, 2025, as a Dussehra special. This marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu after Simha, Legend, and Akhanda, and expectations are sky-high.

The teaser has lived up to the massive hype, showcasing the Ruler, Jai Simha, and Paisa Vasool star, Balakrishna, like never before. For fans, it's a treat, but for others, it may come off as a bit over the top. Stay tuned for more updates.
