Nandamuri Balakrishna's 106th film, Akhanda, where he co-stars Pragya Jaiswal, Srikanth is all set to hit theatres on December 2. The masala potboiler is directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations. The highly anticipated film, which has dialogues by veteran writer M Ratnam, is Balakrishna's third collaboration with Boyapati after successes like Legend, Simha. It's well known that Balakrishna will be essaying a double role in Akhanda. One of the roles will have him play an Aghora.
S Thaman has scored the music for the film. Two tracks from Akhanda, including the title track (sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Siddharth Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan) and another melody Adigaa Adigaa (sung by SP Charan, ML Shruti) have released to warm responses all over. The producers have unveiled multiple glimpses from the film, where audiences get to see Balakrishna in both the avatars in an action sequence and another one where he mouths intense dialogues as an Aghora. The sneak peek has created more curiosity about the story, giving another reason for Balakrishna's fans to wait for Akhanda's release.
Srikanth plays the antagonist in the film. Cinematographer Ram Prasad has cranked the camera while the film is edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. AS Prakash is the art director. Akhanda completed its shoot a few weeks ago. Leading OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar has bagged the streaming rights of the action entertainer - the official OTT premiere date of Akhanda is yet to be announced. Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu, whose last releases haven't performed well at the box office, will look forward to turn the tide with Akhanda.
