Megastar Akshay Kumar has always proven to be someone who paves the way for experimental roles in Bollywood. He did multiple experimental roles out of his comfort zone such as playing a transgender woman in Laxmii to bringing out stores like Pad Man and Airlift to the audience, he is indeed a trendsetter! Bell Bottom is his forthcoming flick which is expected to be a theatrical release. While most filmmakers are opting for an OTT release, it seems like Bell Bottom is using the traditional medium by taking it to the big screen.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay was asked as to why he is opting for a big-screen release he said that when he released Laxmii on the OTT platform, nobody else has released the movie on OTT, but for this film, it is Mr Vashu Bhagnani’s call as he is the owner of the film. Talking about films and whether or not it is the right time to release movies on theatres considering the COVID-19 pandemic, Akshay, who is managing five films in the middle of the pandemic said that just like how policemen and journalists are out there in the field doing their duty, he is also doing his job. He believes COVID-19 has become part of everybody’s lives. He further added by saying that he is frightened of the situation but has to live with it now and that we will have to keep ourselves in check.

Cinderella is the next flick that he is currently working on with the makers of Bell Bottom and when asked about his character he assured that the audience can expect a psycho-thriller and that he is not Cinderella and he ended right there giving the audience a good laugh.
