The long-awaited follow-up to OMG: Oh My God! (2012) will hit theatres on the previously announced date. Titled OMG 2, the film features Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam. Umesh Shukla directed the first film, which starred Paresh Rawal and had a supporting role for Akshay Kumar as Lord Krishna. The movie got rave reviews.

There will be new actors in OMG 2, aside from Akshay Kumar. The film's release date was announced on Friday via various social media platforms. On August 11, 2023, Amit Rai's movie is due for release.

Akshay Kumar made the news with a poster depicting him as Lord Shiva on his social media accounts. Previous posters also portrayed Akshay in the role of Shiva.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, also starring Kapoor, are both set for release on August 11. The question now is whether or not the film studios will change the scheduled release dates.

Selfiee, starring Akshay Kumar, was released in theatres in February. The film, a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence, also stars Emraan Hashmi, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty. The movie was declared a flop and a failure at the box office.

Akshay is working on several films at once, the next one of which is OMG 2. The production of the film began well before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. There have been rumours about a digital-only release of the film for the past month. The film's creators, however, have decided to release it in theatres around the Independence Day holiday.

OMG 2 reportedly discusses the Indian educational system and focuses on the training of adults. The subject matter reportedly attracts a wide audience, particularly those in the film's target demographics of tiers B and C.
