In a shocking development, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s father left heavenly abode today morning. The entire family of the OMG 2 actor is grieving with pain at the moment. Celebrities from the Indian film fraternity, who share a close bond with the actor, too, are saddened to know about the news.

Just a while ago, Pankaj Tripathi’s family issued an official statement on the news being headlined on various portals.

“It’s with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj,” read an official statement by Pankaj Tripathi’s spokesperson.

The family of the actor also requested some privacy at this hour of grief.

Minutes after this news surfaced on social media, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar expressed his heartfelt condolences to his OMG 2 costar Pankaj Tripathi and his family members. In a tweet today, Akshay wrote, “Deeply saddened by the news of the demise of my friend and co-star @TripathiiPankaj's father. No one can fulfill the absence of parents. May God give place to his father's soul at his feet. Om Shanti.”

Notably, Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi bonded well on the set of the movie, OMG 2. This theatrical movie has now been declared as a superhit movie as it has minted over Rs 100 crores theatrically in India.

Prior to working in OMG 2, Akshay and Pankaj worked in remarkable theatrical movie namely Bachchhan Paandey (2022).

On a personal front, Pankaj Tripathi has been married to his childhood friend Mridula since January 15, 2004. They moved to Mumbai after their marriage, and in 2006, had a daughter named Aashi Tripathi.

Pankaj is the recipient of several awards, including a National Film Award – which he earned for his brilliant performance in the 2017 movie, Newton.
