India is celebrating Engineer's Day today with full pride and gusto. Beginning the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the citizens of India on the occasion and said that “innovative minds and tireless dedication have been the backbone of our nation's progress”. To keep up with this spirit, national award-winning actor Akshay Kumar greeted his fans in a unique way today.

The 56-year-old actor wished his fans and well-wishers on Engineer's Day by talking about his upcoming movie ‘Mission Raniganj’. Taking to microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter), Akshay recalled how he felt being a part of the survival thriller that encircles the life of Jaswant Singh Gill.

Happy #EngineersDay. I could never even imagine myself studying hard to be an engineer. But then I got an opportunity to play a brave, intelligent engineer like Jaswant Singh Gill ji in #MissionRaniganj. माँ बाप की इच्छा पूरी हो गई #RealHero,” wrote Akshay Kumar on Twitter.

This post by Akshay has received thousands of likes by Twitter users within just five minutes of its release.

For the uninitiated, Gill was the former Engineer-in-Chief of Coal India Limited. He is famously known for carrying out the world's first successful coal mine rescue operation in 1989 in West Bengal’s Raniganj, thereby saving the lives of over 50 Indian workers.
