Akshay Kumar on working with Himesh Reshammiya in Raksha Bandhan: Very thankful he has given me great music

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his next film, Raksha Bandhan, which will see him take on the role of a loving brother. The makers unveiled one of the first tracks of the film recently, titled Tere Saath Hoon Main, and the song seems to have been embraced by viewers, garnering over seven million views already. Himesh Reshammiya has composed the track and Kumar opened up about working with the musician.

At a press conference held after the song’s release, Pinkvilla quoted the actor talking about how grateful he was to have worked with Reshammiya. The musician has collaborated with Kumar on the soundtracks to the films like Phir Hera Pheri(2006), Aitraaz(2004), Namaste London(2007) and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye(2006). Kumar revealed that Reshammiya had said how he was able to create much better music for the former’s films.

The actor recalled a moment when he had visited Reshammiya’s studio to watch the musician work. Kumar spoke of how he used to look at the musician while he was composing. Reshammiya used to shut his eyes and hum while he composed the music. Kumar said that he felt the musician made music ‘very easily’, sometimes composing a song in just ten minutes. “I am very thankful that he has given me great music,” said the actor.

The musician also had nothing but good things to say about Kumar. Reshammiya revealed that his father had one talked about how there was the 'right song for the right actor'. But Kumar ‘broke’ the formula as every song with him turned out becoming the ‘right song’, said the musician. Reshammiya added that he saw this in very few actors, so every song that he composed for Kumar lived up to the expectations.

Raksha Bandhan is scheduled to hit theaters on August 11, 2022.
