Akshay Kumar is collaborating with filmmaker Priyadarshan on a horror comedy. Three top actresses are being considered for the female lead role.

Filmmaker Priyadarshan recently confirmed his reunion with Akshay Kumar. The director-actor duo is reuniting for a film after 14 years. Their last project was Khatta Meetha. Cut to now, they will be working on a horror comedy. However, it's a lot different from the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Akshay's new project with Priyadarshan is a horror fantasy comedy with the backdrop of black magic. The latest update is that the makers are considering Alia Bhatt, Keerthy Suresh and Kiara Advani for the female lead role.

According to a Mid-Day report, the narrative of Priyadarshan's film has a strong arc for the female lead's character. That's why the director is looking for someone good, who can hold her own in front of Akshay Kumar.
"The makers have approached Alia, Keerthy and Kiara. Talks are underway, and one will be finalised depending on their response to the script, availability of dates and remuneration. If Alia gives her nod, it will mark her first collaboration as a leading lady with Akshay in her 12-year career," a source told the tabloid.
When will Akshay Kumar's film with Priyadarshan begin?
The tabloid further suggests Akshay's next with Priyadarshan will go on floors in December 2024. The first schedule is expected to begin in London on December 8. Following that, the team will head to Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Buzz is that this horror fantasy comedy is being mounted on a grand scale.
The massive sets for the film will be designed by art director Sabu Cyril and cinematography
will be done by Santosh Sivan. "It will be a start-to-finish shoot that will end in February 2025," a source added.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has a couple of films lined up for release this year. The actor has Sarfira with Radhika Madan, Sky Force with Veer Pahariya, and Welcome to the Jungle with an ensemble star scheduled to release this year. He was last seen in Bade Miyan Choye Miyan.
