Akshay Kumar has promised to ‘change’ after his consecutive flops. The actor has not given a hit since Sooryavanshi. Talking about the same, he remembered giving 16 consecutive flops at a time.

Akshay told Aaj Tak that he realizes that when films don’t work, it’s time for him to change. “The audience have changed, you need to change, you need to dismantle yourself,” he shared.

There was a time when he gave 16 and other time, when he gave eight consecutive flops. Currently, the actor has four flop films in Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Ram Setu. His current movie with Emraan Hashmi Selfiee is also a disaster at the Box Office.

Akshay feels like the audiences cannot be blamed for his flops. He said, “Do not blame the audience or anyone else. It is my fault, 100%.”

The actor set history twice in the post-pandemic times. While his movie BellBottom was the first to release ever since movie theatres opened up once again, he also gave the first Bollywood hit in Sooryavanshi. The film, co-starring Katrina Kaif, is one of the movies in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. The first two were Ajay Devgn’s Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba.

Selfiee released in theatres on February 24. The movie had a disappointing opening number and is not doing great business currently either. It collected Rs. 3 crores on day one.

The movie is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence. The original film starred Prithviraj in the lead role.
