Akshay Kumar to kick off Capsule Gill with Parineeti Chopra in July?

Akshay Kumar is known for being a hardworking actor who works on multiple movies every calendar year. The actor was reported to reunite with Kesari co-star Parineeti Chopra for a movie tentatively titled Capsule Gill. The latest report about the project suggests that the makers will begin filming for the film in July. 

According to a report on Peeping Moon, the makers will begin shooting for the movie in July. Apart from Akshay, the film will also reportedly feature Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Sharma, Ravi Kishan and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. 

A source told the publication, “Parineeti Chopra plays Akshay's wife and she will join Akshay in the film's Raigarh schedule. Her role is smaller but a significant one in the film, working as a catalyst to the heroic act of Gill.”

The pre-production has been completed and the team will begin filming on July 4 and will take a break for the promotions of Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan before resuming filming in September. 

Capsule Gill is based on the 1989 coal mine disaster where chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill saved multiple lives. Bankrolled by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and Kyta Productions, the movie is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. 

Akshay Kumar has now had back-to-back box office duds with Bachchhan Paanday and Samrat Prithviraj. While the former was the Hindi remake of Jigarthanda, the latter was based on the life of Indian warrior Prithviraj Chauhan.

Akshay also has a long slate of upcoming projects including Ram Setu and the remake of the Tamil hit Soorarai Pottru. The latter is based on the life of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan.

Parineeti was last seen in Amole Gupte’s Saina, the biopic based on the life of Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal.
