Well, the comedy caper is now back in the news, and we at OTTplay have learned that Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is all set to be remade in Hindi, with none other than Akshay Kumar headlining the project.
A source close to producer Dil Raju revealed that Akshay Kumar has given his nod, and a noted Hindi director has been locked to helm the entertainer. Akshay, known for his impeccable comic timing, reportedly loved the original and decided to remake it after watching it. Dil Raju, who backed the Telugu version, will also produce the Hindi remake.
Sankranthiki Vasthunnam revolves around an ex-cop who, while living happily with his wife and four kids, is sent on a mission to capture a deadly terrorist. The twist? His wife and ex-girlfriend also join him on the mission, leading to hilarious chaos. The Telugu version was a massive hit, grossing over ₹300 crore at the box office during Sankranthi.
