Akshay Kumar wraps Diu schedule of Ram Setu, shares a photo from the sets

Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushratt Bharuccha have been extensively shooting for their forthcoming film Ram Setu. The actors have been filming Abhishek Sharma's directorial in Diu. Now, Akshay took to his social media pages and shared his photo from the sets of Ram Setu. The actor also penned a sweet message praising the beauty of Diu and the location where he shot the film. 

In the photo, Akshay is seen wearing a T-shirt and cargo pants with a jacket. The actor is donning a grey beard and a curly hairdo. The actor captioned his post, "Taking back amazing memories of Diu as we end the schedule of #RamSetu. Natural beauty, lovely people, don’t miss the famous Pani Kotha fortress-jail at the back. The place is an incredible gem wrapped in history. Diu tujhe dil diya."

Ram Setu, which went on floors earlier this year, has Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi as the creative producer. This is the first film to be produced by Amazon Prime Video.

Talking about the same, Akshay had earlier said in a statement that Ram Setu's story always fascinated and inspired him. The actor shared that it represents strength, bravery, and love, as well as uniquely Indian values that have shaped the moral and social fabric of the country. 

The Sooryavanshi actor added that Ram Setu serves as a link between the generations of the past, present, and future. He is excited to tell the story of a significant part of Indian heritage, especially for the youth, and he is pleased that the story will cut across geographies and strike a chord with viewers all over the world thanks to Amazon Prime Video.

While Sharma had spoken about Akshay's look in the film, stating that he plays an archaeologist, his appearance and character are modelled after several Indian and international professional archaeologists working in the field. The director concluded by saying that Akshay's fans can expect a completely new avatar of him in terms of both appearance and character.

Ram Setu is set to hit the big screens in 2022.
