Akshay Kumar might not be bringing numbers at the Box Office as he would have hoped for, but his movie budgets sure tend to cross the prestigious Rs. 200-crore mark. One of the most recent examples of that appears to be Housefull 5, which is now reportedly the costliest comedy film to be made in India. The movie brings 19 renowned actors under the same roof. The movie is also set around a cruise, which provides every facility one can imagine. Here's everything we know so far...
Various reports suggest that Housefull 5 is made on a whopping budget of Rs. 225 crore. This is the cost of making the movie and not on promotions. Thus, Housefull 5 is touted as the most expensive comedy film in India currently.

For the most part, it was shooting on a real cruise for 90 days. The upcoming installment is set on a cruise, where a murder takes place. The cruise is multi-functional and has all the facilities available. Naturally, building such facilities took the budget to a new high. Housefull 5 has beaten even Housefull 4's budget (Rs. 165 crore) record in that sense.
Housefull 5 is a comedy centred around a cruise, where a murder takes place after a drunken night with no recollection of what exactly happened. Soon, the lives of all 'Jolly's (Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan) change and everybody on the cruise is a suspect. This includes cops played by Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt. Nana Patekar plays an Interpol officer in the upcoming film, which also stars Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Johnny Lever, Chitrangda Singh, Chunky Pandey, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir in pivotal roles.
