Akshay Oberoi on Pathaan director Sidharth Anand's Fighter: It's nice to work with Deepika Padukone again

Actor Akshay Oberoi, who is gearing up multiple releases, has shared his excitement of working with superstar Deepika Padukone in Pathaan director Sidharth Anand's next Fighter, which also stars Hrithik Roshan.

Akshay had earlier worked with Deepika in Soojit Sircar's much-loved 2015 film Piku, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan and the late Irrfan Khan.

Talking about his work, Akshay said, "It is an exciting year. There are a lot of new and interesting things lined up, with an amazing bunch of actors. Acting is a profession in which can take inspiration from everywhere, even your co-actors. I have worked with Deepika before in Piku and it’s nice to work with her again."

As the actor has got a chance to work with some iconic actors, including Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, he said that their energy on the set is quite infectious, and therefore, it helped him improve his performance.

Fighter also stars Karan Singh Grover and Birol Tarkan Yildiz.

Akshay will also be seen in the film Gaslight, which stars Sara Ali Khan and Vikrant Massey. The film, a dark thriller, is produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Pawan Kriplani, and also features Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role.      

Starting his career in 2002 with the film American Chai, Akshay has appeared in films like Fitoor, Laal Rang, Gurgaon, Kaalakaandi, Love Hostel and Thar, and web series like The Test Case, Selection Day, Illegal, Flesh, Inside Edge and Feels Like Home.

As 2023 looks quite promising for him, Akshay said, "This is going to be a great year. I can feel it already."

The actor has also finished working in another film, titled Varchasva, which revolves around coal mining incidents set in Dhanbad.-
